Dashboard Running User Error

Last Updated: Jul 21, 2013 08:34PM BST
If we add a Dashboard to Daddy Analytics and push the update to you, Salesforce doesn't know who to list as the running user for this Dashboard (this is a good thing, for security reasons).

But, you'll get an error the first time you view this dashboard, which will say

"Error: The running user for this dashboard doesn't have permission to run reports. Your system administrator should select a different running user for this dashboard."

Luckily, fixing this is about 1 minute per dashboard.

If you have Admin rights (or can edit Dashboards), click Edit, and Delete the DaddyAnalytics user, seen on the upper right of your Dashboard.

Where it says View dashboard as:, type in the name of one of your users - preferably one who can see all data.

Click Close, then Save and Close, and you're done. You may need to do this with multiple dashboards if we have added more than one to an upgrade.
